Gold Coast's beloved Mowerman gears up for 15th straight charity fundraiser



He's known around Australia as "The Mowerman", but Claude Harvey has traded in his trusty clipper for a different set of wheels as he takes off on his 15th annual Gold Coast walk to raise funds for a cause close to his heart.

For over a decade, Harvey garnered attention by traversing the country on a lawnmower, but this year, he opted for a new ride: a motorised scooter.

"I thought this year was the year to do something different," Harvey said.

CoreLogic data suggests Gold Coast property prices have outpaced every Australian capital city over the past five years.  The 80.7 per cent growth in this period is ahead of Brisbane's 71.2 per cent rise to become the nation's second most expensive capital behind Sydney.
