A disused marijuana growing set-up has been found in a secret room of a young Gold Coast family’s new home. A tradesman discovered the room while working on the Pacific Pines Blvd, Pacific Pines home on Tuesday. “It ended up being an old hydroponic set-up,” Senior Sergeant Brett MacGibbon said. Hydroponics — a technique used to grow plants without soil and natural sunlight — is often used by marijuana growers wanting to conceal their crop. The room included some old marijuana plants and an irrigation system “set up from outside”, MacGibbon said.
